Yeah, I'm just in that kind of mood. And there's been a few good ones flying about lately.

NINE THINGS THAT (CURRENTLY) MAKE ME SO SO HAPPY (tagged by falseeeyelashes)

1. SONS OF ANARCHY.
In case you missed it, I've just this week started watching this show and it is all kinds of completely fucking amazing. Those of you who watch it, I'm finally caught up, just watched episode 8 of season 2. Holy crap, this show likes to beat the shit out of its characters. But a note to everyone, watch this if you can. Go to my last post for more specific reasons why, but just quickly, it's high, HIGH quality storytelling, and like all the best shows, it focuses on an area of society that you're not too familiar with, a society within itself; the characters are AMAZING and complex and the performances are astoundingly good. It's such top-notch stuff that it just leaves me happy that this kind of stuff continues to be produced, even if it doesn't leave you feeling too comfortable.

2. CHARLIE HUNNAM'S FAAAAAAAAAAAAACE.
Yeah, this is a legitimate point all of its own. Part of my huge enjoyment of SoA is the quality of the show itself, but I'm not going to lie, Charlie Hunnam as Jax Teller also makes up a significant part of why I love it. Sure, he's a hotass and all (AND HE ALSO HAS A VERY HOT ASS, JSYK) but the thing I love most about his performance is the way he uses his face. He gets emotions, little tics, smirks, and all of those sorts of things down pat. LOOK AT THAT SMIRK, FUCK YOU STAHLLLLL:

Watching his character in different situations and the way his emotions play across his face is making me so happy, you can't even believe. He's really, really good. OH AND GORGEOUS. Look, the man's face just makes me happy. NEXT.

3. BANANAS AND APPLES.
I am eating a lot of these lately because for some reason, the batches I'm getting from the supermarket are lately seeming to be consistently delicious. My place smells like bananas, it's pretty funny. And I ate one on the Tube this morning and because there are no bins on the trains or in the stations I had to carry the skin around in my hand for like half an hour, the whole TRAIN smelt like banana. EVERYONE HATED ME BUT IDGAF BECAUSE IT WAS DELICIOUS.

4. HENRY CAVILL POSTS ON ONTD.
They are hands down the best posts on ONTD because there is a level of depravity reached in them that is thoroughly entertaining. There's been a whole slew of them lately and I laugh so hard reading through the comments. MY FAVOURITE POSTS TO PARTICIPATE IN.

5. THE 1938 ORSON WELLES RECORDING OF 'WAR OF THE WORLDS'
There was a post about this on ONTD yesterday, I think, and it made me go back and listen to this on YouTube for the first time in a few years, it's such a magnificent piece of theatre. So today I went out and bought a copy of it on CD. That man had something. You can kind of understand why so many people went batshit when the recording was first released. I love listening to it, it makes me happy that the medium of radio can still have that impact on me because I totally neglect listening to the radio these days. Plus the story itself is one of my favourites.

6. AUTUMN. IN LONDON.
Autumn's not even my favourite season, winter is, but the promise that autumn offers fills me with such glee at what's to come. The colder days, the shortening hours of daylight, the leaves EVERYWHERE, the crispness of the air, the way people dress - you don't really get that back in Australia where I grew up, so the very noticable changing of the seasons is still exciting for me. And knowing that winter's on the way makes me happy like you wouldn't believe.

7. FORTNUM & MASON ORANGE PEKOE TEA.
My tea!! I drink a few cups everyday - black, no sugar, and it's DELICIOUS. Everything people say about tea is true - it calms you down, it makes you happy, and when I drink it at work it really relaxes me and helps me lose some of the tension. It's what I need to start every day. And with the colder weather it becomes even more enjoyable.

8. GLEE.
GLEE JUST MAKES ME HAPPY. Whenever I watch it, whenever a song from the show comes on my iTunes, I just feel happy. I can't explain it, it just does this to me.

9. ANTONIN DVORAK.
I've just been listening to a lot of his work lately, it really makes me happy. I go through phases listening to particular composers, I just happen to be in a Dvorak mood at the moment.

I'm still pretty tired from the flight, I'm generally pretty good at getting over jetlag but I barely slept on the flight. Instead, I watched Star Trek numerous times, fast-forwarded through Angels + Demons for the Thure bits, fast-forwarded every scene in Terminator: Salvation that didn't have Sam Worthington in it, read The Chrysalids and also War of the Worlds (IDK, I was in a classic sci-fi mood). I always end up only watching films when I'm flying that I've already seen before, hahahaha.

Anyway, I actually got back yesterday but when I turned everything on in my place MY WIRELESS BOX WOULDN'T TURN ON,

OMG THE HORROR,

YOU HAVE NO IDEA. But thankfully O2 is staffed not by retards but by awesome Scottish people (IDK, whenever I call them I get a Scot) and they were like OH NOES I'LL SEND YOU ANOTHER ONE STRAIGHT AWAY when I called them. And it came this morning. I LOVE YOU, O2.

I'm attempting to go back through everything on my flist at the moment but DAMN, there's a lot. I've commented on a few things but if I've missed anything very important (IDK, LIKE NUDE PHOTOS OF ASKARS. OR FASSY. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN) then please let me know.

I just watched True Blood, I don't think I'll manage a jazzy reaction post like I sometimes do because I have a lot of things to do, but here are my brief thoughts anyway...

I liked Maryann in this episode, because she finally had a fucking purpose and we knew what she was doing and that was thankfully only a fucking ostrich egg and not a fucking dragon or something. And she looked hot in Sookie's gran's wedding dress. BUT SEE YOU LATER, BITCH.

And as soon as that fucking cow walked down the road I was like LOL HEY SAM and that Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom move he pulled on Maryann was fabulous. SAM I LOVE YOU. AND YOUR INCREASINGLY FREQUENT NAKEDNESS. He's really wonderful, I hope he stays really central to the storyline next season and I want to know all about his parents and stuff.

Sookie also continued her purple patch of awesomeness, and she looked gorgeous all episode. I'm not even going to judge her for her whole 'OMG WHY CAN'T I SAY YES TO YOU BEEEEEL' spiel because it was so obviously a little writers' ploy to get her out of the room so Beel could be kidnapped or whatever. Does this happen to him in the books? Whatever. BEEL I LOVE YOU, YOU WERE AWESOME IN THIS EPISODE AND I CAN'T HATE YOU WHEN YOU BUY DRESSES AND WHOLE RESTAURANTS FOR A NIGHT AND DANCE LIKE A BIT OF A DORK AND BE A GOOD FATHER TO JESSICA AND NOT ACTUALLY LET SAM GET SACRIFICED. FUCK THE HATERS.

I was kind of pissed that Jason got black-eyed, for some reason I thought he wasn't susceptible to that? Oh well. I hope he and Andy are bros for life. HE SAVED ANDY. I genuinely got scared there, I thought Eggs was going to stab Andy and I was like OMFG NOOOOOO ANYONE BUT ANDY. But alas, hot Eggs, you died, and your hotness and general lack of usefulness is gone. Bye. Also I hope we are saying goodbye to Tara being annoying and worthless, because she's been like that ALL SEASON and I did not enjoy that.

I guess the non-ASkars stan part of me realises that he couldn't really have been worked into this, so I'm kind of ok with the lack of Eric) although I got all hot and bothered when he was adjusting himself after his little rough-and-tumble with Maryann. I guess on the whole it wasn't as great as episodes earlier in the season, having the Maryann thing happen halfway through made the rest of the episode rather anti-climactic.

I was trying to stay awake yesterday afternoon so I watched the pilot episode of Lost for the first time in a year or so, sometimes I forget how fucking mind-blowing it was. And how much hotter Sawyer was back in the beginning, all clean-shaven and surly, mmmmmm. I WANT THE FINAL SEASON SO BADLY IT HURTSSSSSSSSSS. OK I loled hard when I found out Gedeon was going to be in IB, because I know him well from his days on the fabulous Austrian TV show Kommissar Rex about a police dog that eats terrorists and defuses bombs and mows the lawn and shit, which I've mentioned before because it's like this big cult hit here in Australia. It's the lulziest show ever, it's supposedly about the one dog (Rex, duh) who over the course of like eight seasons has four or five different masters/homicide detectives because the old ones keep dying or leaving the show or whatever. Gedeon played his second master, called Alex, and tbh he made such an impact on the viewing audience at my house when I was growing up (aka. my mother and I) that we call all Rex's masters 'Alex' and refer to Gedeon as 'hot Alex' hahahaha. NICE STORY, I KNOW. Anyway, as a consequence of his involvement in this show, nearly all of my photos of Gedeon are of him with Rex because he'll only ever be Alex to me. DEAL.

LET'S NUMBERED LIST THIS BITCH.

1. The film is beautiful and gorgeous and all that. As you'd expect. There were some fantastic shots that I loved, like the one of Marcel standing behind the screen, smoking.
2. It's also 2.5 hours long. Not once did it feel that long. I WANTED MORE.
3. I will henceforth only ever refer to milk as 'delicious milk' for the rest of my life.
4. The film is also rather funny.
OK, the actors.
5. Christoph Waltz is indeed the star of this, he's superb. The opening scene in particular is so fraught because of the manner in which he plays the character - he never deviates, he's polite and charming, and scary as fuck. A+. Also he fucking speaks a million languages perfectly. I loved when he started speaking fluent Italian.
6. Brad Pitt is really great and should only ever do comedy from this day forth. Haters can GTFO.
7. Daniel Brühl is so unbelievably charming and adorable throughout the entire film (with the exception of the final scene) and I love him even more, if that's possible. Also LOL IRL at his film.
8. Fassy is wonderful. I wished his part was bigger, the fact that he got third billing for this film is pretty fabulous. Every time he opened his mouth and spoke in that glorious accent I had to suppress a schoolgirlish giggle. And when he said 'frightfully sorry' I went all a-quiver hahaha HE IS SO FUCKING DAPPER. And then when he spoke German? I DIED.
9. Melanie Laurent is so beautiful and fierce and I thought she outshone Diane Kruger like whoa, not that I need to necessarily compare the female leads. I'm offically a huge fan of hers now. And Diane Kruger wasn't bad at all.
10. August Diehl, whom I adore, scared the pants off me. He was scary as shit.
11. Til Schweiger...made me happy. That's all that needs to be said.
12.The rest of the Basterds were pretty awesome, although fuck me if Eli Roth wasn't totally unnerving.
13. And....things I never thought I'd see? Ryan from the Office scalping someone. Awesome. BJ Novak impressed me greatly but it's so hard not to look at him as Ryan. I like that his role was pretty big, though.
Other shit?
14. Soundtrack? AWESOME. Bowie. Come on.
15. End of the film? For the first time in my life, IDGAF about the history, that was pretty awesome to see everyone get blown up and shot and whatnot.
16. The violence was graphic, but I only really got squeamish when Aldo stuck his hand in the bullethole in Bridget's leg.
17. I WANT TO SEE IT AGAIN, END OF STORY.

2. If I was a guy, I'm pretty sure I'd shoot my load (pardon the crudeness) during that scene in the bar. NEARLY EVERY FAVOURITE PERSON OF MINE IN THE WORLD IS IN IT, FFS.

3. Thus, my ego is becoming increasingly convinced that this film was made specifically for me and I won't hear otherwise. The random selection of heaps of my obscure favourite hot people is resounding evidence that I should forgive QT all his past creepy wrongs and become an admirer.

If you haven't checked out the video link I posted in my last IB post, here is a YouTube version of it - shittyish image quality, but more importantly, the sound is great. It's got Fassy and Til in it, and my God, Fassy's accent is the most wonderful thing ever.

Of course, as you all know, I am rather prone to hyperbole, but it was at the very least a fucking awesome episode, thanks to the trifecta of awesome that is Eric, Jason, and motherfucking Godric, who pwns all. Oh and Andy. Or course.

WARNING: THIS POST IS A BIT MORE EPIC BECAUSE I WAS AWAY LAST WEEK

SO. Let's get the boring shit out of the way:

LORENA/BILL

Actually not that boring, but I am lazy and didn't cap that shit. Bill whacking her over the head with the plasma TV was full of the lulz, and her speech later about it cracked my shit up. AS DID HER HAIR IN THAT SCENE. SHE LEGITIMATELY CAME WITH A DEAD CAT ON HER HEAD, NO OTHER EXPLANATION. AND THEN GODRIC (oh, my darling Godric, wait until I get to you ♥) WAS ALL 'BITCH GTFO, BILL TAKE HER OUTSIDE AND SHIT ALL OVER HER', thus conveniently separating Bill and Sookie in time for the bomb blast, so Eric can save Sookie or some shit and Eric/Sookie will happen AND THIS DOES NOT PLEASE ME, UGH.

JESSICA/HOYT

Look. All I can say is, that poor fucking girl. Reliving that shit EVERY SINGLE TIME would totally be a fate worse than death (LOL IRONY). And of COURSE Hoyt is totally wonderful and sweet about it. I fear for them.

TARA/EGGS/MARYANN

OK. LET'S GET ONTO THE TRULY AWESOME SHIT THAT COMPRISED 75% OF THIS EPISODE.

ERIC AND GODRIC.
OH, FUCK ME.
I AM OFFICIALLY ON BOARD, 100 FUCKING %. As I said on my Tumblr, I am so into them that I'm going to need to be surgically removed or some shit. THEY ARE MAGNIFICENT. I can barely put it into words. I love the respect between them. I love that Godric is this fucking awesome little Zen Buddha dwarf who shits all over everyone, and that Eric is this giant Viking god who is so completely devoted to him. I LOVE THEM.

Seriously. This opening scene. I was, like, holding my breath or something because I am THAT pathetic. I feel that conversation between Eric & Sookie from later is rather appropriate here:

YOU GUYS. SERIOUSLY. The Godric/Eric dynamic. I WANT THE SHOW TO HEREONIN BE ABOUT THEM AND THEM ONLY AND THEIR BIG GAY LOVE STORY OVER THE AGES (DUDE, THEY TOTALLY HAVE A BIG GAY BACKSTORY. YOU KNOW IT).

So then I'm catching my breath from the brief Eric/Godric reunion (as I said, pathetic, I know), and then we get this. ERIC IMPERSONATING A HUMAN. ERIC SAYING 'DANG'. As peopleareshapessaid, how awesome is it that his impersonation of a human amounts to him basically acting like a retard? And I love that he STOOPED. The expressions he makes. ASkars is totally coming along in leaps and bounds this season, he switched so well between characters. FABULOUS. This rates up there with the Andy!Eric from two weeks ago.

And as I recuperate from this fabulousness, we then get all this shit in the church. PERFECTION. Eric's laying there, all chained up and whatnot, and I'm not even listening, I'm just looking at the flat plane of his chest and my brain's leaking out of my ears. EVEN STEVE NEWLIN IS LICKING HIS LIPS. JFC. And just let me reiterate my love for Steve Newlin, tenfold. He's a total shit, completely insane, and I love him. The expressions on his face - I've said it before, but the guy playing him is SO FUCKING AWESOME. He was so preachery in his white suit. Insane.

AND THEN THIS EPISODE TIPS INTO GREATNESS WITH THE AWESOMEIFICATION OF JASON STACKHOUSE.

(Sookie) Eric! Do not kill him!!
(Jason) KILL HIM!! KILL THE MOTHERFUCKER!!

OH JASON. HOW I LOVE YOU. This scene was perfect. The fucking paintball gun, for starters, ensuring that Steve's walking around, pontificating with a green blodge on his forehead. ALL OF JASON'S EXPRESSIONS. ALL OF STEVE'S EXPRESSIONS. JASON YELLING AT STEVE. TELLING ERIC TO KILL THE MOTHERFUCKER. Oh, and Eric being sexy as hell being all vampy and whatnot. Adrenaline overload. SO MANY MUSCLES ON DISPLAY. And then Stan and his ugly fucking vampire friends turn up and the shit hits the fan, and Stan's about to chomp on the Lukinator, and then.....

THE EPISODE VEERS PAST GREATNESS TO BEATIFICATION, IN MY MIND, THANKS TO GODRIC. MOTHER. FUCKING. GODRIC. He just emerges, he's like peasant baby Jesus or something in his little outfit except awesome and tattooed and completely Zen and owns everyone. I CAN'T PUT INTO WORDS HOW MUCH I AM LOVING GODRIC.

Kill me. Jesus will protect me.
I am actually older than your Jesus. I wish I could have known him, but I missed it.

And then Steve is like a total drama queen and offers himself up to Eric and whatnot (like you wouldn't) and then he plays the JESUS LOVES ME CARD, and the look of disdain on Eric's face slays me, and then Godric is like BITCH, I'M TOTALLY OLDER THAN JESUS, BUT COOL STORY BRO. And then he zooms down and humiliates Steve Newlin and fucking breaks the Fellowship of the Sun in, like, one nanosecond, and I am *this* close to joining the cult of Godric. And he and Eric stare at one another, and I am like :D, and then I crack up because they're basically staring eye to eye and Godric's on top of a motherfucking staircase, AND I LOVE IT. As I said before, Godric's like this pretty wee boy, kind of built like the most chill gymnast ever, and Eric's like this gargantuan, smooth, overpowering Scandanavian blonde deliciousness, and I love this about them. The contrasts. I need to step down off my Eric/Godric pulpit for a moment because jfc I am getting ridiculous. JUST KNOW THAT I ADORE THEM.

Let's talk about the awesomeness of Jason Stackhouse again.

SO I HAVE LOVED JASON STACKHOUSE ALL SEASON, YET HE KEEPS SURPASSING HIS PAST BRILLIANCE WHEN I DIDN'T THINK IT POSSIBLE. His expressions. The beautiful retarded nonsense (planted his own babies? WTF?) that comes out of his mouth. The overly dramatic gestures (hurling his ring at Steve, hahaha). And then his continued diatribe as Bill & Sookie, like, pull him out of the church. I love that after all these shenanigans, he's still essentially the same Jason, simple, governed by his impulses and fiercely protective of Sookie. THIS BOY.

And then the meeting of minds that is Eric & Jason.

ALL YOU GK FANGIRLS OUT THERE, YOU TOTALLY SQUEED WHEN ERIC WENT ALL BRAD COLBERT ON US, RIGHT? The conquering hero ♥
But yeah, I thought it was lovely to see them interact for once, to see this super-intelligent Eric almost toying with thick, simple Jason, but almost in a lovely way. AND TO SEE EVERY ONE OF JASON'S EXPRESSIONS. The way his face changes, I've said it all season, but Ryan Kwanten is imho the best actor on this show. Probably. Maybe Laffy as well. But Jason gets the screentime, and I've loved EVERY second of it.

THEIR PISSING CONTESTS CONTINUE TO BRING ME MUCH JOY. Except for the fact that I do not like the bullshit path this is leading down, aka Bill/Sookie/Eric triangle nonsense. I DON'T REALLY SEE THE CHEMISTRY, GUYS. There were a few eensy sparks tonight, but ASkars closetalking with anyone will give you sparks. Hmph. Let's just enjoy a) how much taller Eric is than Bill in these caps (though I still love you, Beeeel); and b) the gorgeousness that is ASkars' half-shadowed face. DELICIOUS.

THIS MOMENT WAS SO AWKWARD AND SO BEAUTIFUL AND I LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT. Bill can be so QT sometimes, I do adore that he's making an effort here for Sookie.

And in an episode full of awesome moments, this little scene here pretty much took the cake. I literally missed everything that was said, first time around, because I was just staring at them and holding my breath or something. TOTAL BRAIN SHORTCIRCUIT. I JUST LOVE THEM. AND HOW THEY LOOK AT ONE ANOTHER. I AM A STAN OF EPIC PROPORTIONS. I don't want this to be the last we see of Eric/Godric. I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed more backstory. I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed more interaction. I don't want Eric to head back to Bon Temps (he doesn't live there, though, does he? I have no idea where he lives. I JUST KNOW I DON'T WANT HIM TO LEAVE GODRIC). If he does leave, after moments like this, where he's so obviously devoted to Godric, and wants to please him, it'll definitely grate a little. It won't feel right. I know they're sheriffs of different areas and so have to be in those different areas, BUT IT WON'T FEEL RIGHT. And I am concerned about Godric. I didn't read this far in the books - why is he not hungry? WHY IS HE A LITTLE BIT MELANCHOLY? I LOVE HIM AND AM CONCERNED.

Particularly when shit like this happens. That sound you hear? THAT'S MY HEART BREAKING. MY DARLING LUKINATOR, I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU PULLED THIS SHIT. After the awesomeness that was the rest of the episode, this depressed the fuck out of me. I KNOW WHERE THIS IS GOING TO HEAD. IT WILL INVARIABLY LEAD TO ERIC/SOOKIE, AND SORRY, BUT I'M NOT COOL WITH THAT HAPPENING. Alan Ball apparently said in an interview recently that Bill/Sookie will remain the core relationship in the series, so I'm clinging to that in the hope that anything Eric/Sookie will not be too serious, although it's inevitable that something will arise. I know it may work and be awesome in the books, but these aren't the books, and I don't want to flip a shit over this.

BUT YEAH. THIS SHOW. OWNS ME.

In other news...

I spent last week in Melbourne with my mother, had a lovely time. Caught up with a lot of old friends, spent money I didn't have but don't really give a shit, went to museums and galleries and the like (and saw Mr Darcy's trousers and top hat, hahahaha), went to the footy a few times at the MCG, blah blah blah. And thanks to the awesomeness that is futureperfect, I went and saw 'Flame and Citron' (which I mentioned in this post) at the Melbourne International Film Festival. A STROKE OF VERY GOOD FORTUNE, THAT. The film was wonderful, I LOVED it.

(ty, Wikipedia...) Flame & Citron (Danish: Flammen & Citronen) is a Danish Drama/Action movie from 2008. The director and co-writer of the movie is Ole Christian Madsen. The movie is based on actual events and eye-witness accounts of two of the most active resistance fighters in the Holger Danske resistance group during World War II, Bent Faurschou-Hviid (known as Flame) and Jørgen Haagen Schmith (known as Citron).

The performances were really good. Mads Mikkelsen (Jørgen/Citron) was obviously awesome, because he is awesome in everything he does, and my burgeoning love for Thure Lindhardt (Bent/Flame) continues unabated in spite of the fact that he had red hair in the film. HELLO. Mum didn't twig that he was the blonde guy from Angels + Demons that she loved so much (LOL) and I didn't tell her, hahaha. She almost fell asleep - the film was, like, almost three hours long or something, and started at 9.30PM, but I was pretty much riveted. I was also pleasantly surprised by the appearence of Christian Berkel, who is officially in every European movie ever made and who I love, which can be annoying, because he's always playing Nazis and as thus I feel undue sympathy and affection for characters that I shouldn't (he played Heinrich Hoffman in this, ffs). But the plot was really good. And I found myself a little emotional at the end where there was a bit of a touching scene. DAMN WWII MOVIES ALWAYS GET ME. When I get the money, I'll order this DVD. See it if you can, though. I really loved it (TY AGAIN, futureperfect!!)

LOL I also saw Geoffrey Rush & Hugo Weaving outside the cinema, which was a million kinds of awesome. The MIFF was really awesome and had a fabulous programme of films, I was rather cut to realise, however, that I missed a screening that Polish film that Pawel (bb Walt) was in by about a week :( I also missed a screening of Inglourious Basterds (FUCK ME) than QT attended, but I was at the football anyway, so I guess I'll just continue biding my time until August 20th.

One final thing: THOSE PICTURES OF ASKARS IN THE TURQUOISE SHIRT THAT CAME OUT WHEN I WAS AWAY ARE AWESOME.

Let us begin with the most amazingest scene of the episode, though not by much (I enjoyed 1926 Bill & Lorena almost as much as this....)

ASKARS IS FABULOUS AND AMAZING. AND THERE ARE NO CAPS OF LAFFY BEING YELLED AT BECAUSE THAT WAS SAD. I don't like poor PTSD Laffy. I want sassy Laffy back. Although I did like Andy's discussions of pizzazz hahahahaha

But seriously, I was cracking up so hard at ASkars' expressions here. HIS MOUTH. He totally got Andy Bellefleur, imho ~~and tbh if I ever had PTSD I wouldn't mind visions of Eric~~ WHAT

AND HERE, LADIES & GENTS, WE HAVE TERRY BELLEFLEUR BEING SO MANY KINDS OF AWESOME THAT IT MADE MY HEAD BOGGLE. Terry is so wonderful that it really distresses me seeing him & Arlene at the orgies, ngl. HE'S TOO PRECIOUS FOR THAT SHIT.

And briefly, OH PAM. For real. I though, when I saw this outfit/hair combo in the promos, that Pam was dressed in a costume or some shit. Where are her nice twinsets and sassy pumps? THIS IS NOT THE CLASSY PAM I KNOW. I was puzzled by this attire. And she wants Laffy to sell V again? So Eric can keep track of who's buying V, I guess?

And let's just leave my brief love of Daphne behind because WHEN YOU ARE MEAN TO SAM, YOU INCUR MY WRATH. HO. I love that in this season, Sam has done a lot of yelling and double takes and lulzy shit like that ♥ SAM. SAM WILL BE FINE, THE PREVIEWS SAYS SO. THE END.
Also, I think this was one orgy too many for me, I've finally been pushed over the edge of the 'FUCKING ENOUGH, MARYANN' cliff hahahaha. Though it was rather cool to see her in her minotaur head thingie. So, Daphne theories now. She was scratched by Maryann, and Maryann must have healed her so long as she promised to work for Maryann or whatever? And live in a fucking dollhouse on Maryann's lawn? hahahahaha and nothing here about Tara and Eggs because blah blah blah long extraneous unnecessary detour into the mists of Eggs' mind as he wanders through the woods. YES YOU HAVE BEEN IN AN ORGY BEFORE AND PROBABLY SACRIFICED SOMETHING, DEAL WITH IT blah blah blah

OK so this was HANDS DOWN my favourite Bill. Evil, piano-playing, charming, singing, fake-French Bill WITH HIS DAMN HAIR SLICKED BACK FOR ONCE :D I won't really comment on how lulzy his singing was, and just say how nice it was to see Stephen Moyer actually looking as hot as he has the potential to be. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOO NURSE.

Also, no caps of it, but I enjoyed Lorena's FUCK PROHIBITION very, very much. She's awesome. AND MORE AWESOME THAN SOOKIE.

The whole thing reminded me of that bit in Watchmen where Silhouette is killed with her lover (OH HEY WATCHMEN IS OUT ON DVD TOMORROW I THINK!!!!!!! :D)

OK, so I knew he didn't make it through the series alive, given that I was spoiled way back in S1, but I was NOT expecting it to happen like that. For him to not go down in a blaze of glory WAS NOT OK. YOU CAN'T JUST KILL OMAR LIKE THAT, LITTLE BOY. FUCK YOU.

This season continues to depress me. Jimmy is so completely fucked in every way and it's devastating. I have a bad feeling that he's not going to end the series in a happy way, he really hasn't got much any more, now that I think Beadie's definitively ended that. No good can come of that serial killer bullshit, Kima hates him, everyone's using him, and it's entirely his own fault. 10-1 he drinks himself to death in the finale, I did NOT like all that Beadie forshadowing about the wake.

Things that ARE awesome:

- Bunk finally getting a match implicating Chris in the (well, one of the) murders. YAY FOR BUNK AND HIS GOOD OLD-FASHIONED POLICE WORK!! I LOVE YOU, BUNK.
- GUS CALLING THAT FUCKING COCKHEAD SCOTT OUT ON HIS SHIT AT THE PAPER. GUS IS MY FAVOURITE PERSON IN THIS WHOLE SEASON EXCEPT MAYBE FOR BUNK.
- All the old characters popping up towards the end of this season. We saw Nicky Sobotka a few episodes ago, today we saw Poot!! WORKING IN A STORE, OMG. And Dozerman re-emerged, which I am OK with because he is hot.
- My bb Sydnor cracking the code. I LOVE YOU SYDNOR.
- Seeing Carv again. I LOVE YOU CARV. I hope we see him & Herc reunite in some capacity before the end of the series.

So.
Clay Davis working the city jury like he did made me want to belt that stupid face of his right through the screen, I HATE HIM UGHHHHHHHHHHHHH he and Delonda (Namond's mother/Wee-Bay's wifey thing) are my two least favourite people in the whole five seasons. I HOPE LESTER CAN SOMEHOW ENSURE HE GETS LOCKED THE FUCK UP BEFORE THE SERIES ENDS.

I would also like Dukie to get an actual job that doesn't involve junk removal. THAT'S WHAT BUBBS DID.

So I finally got a HQ copy of the latest episode of True Blood (TY, Queensland State Library, for your free wireless!!) and this was the best thing I got out of it:

I watched the latest episode of True Blood. Streaming.
I can't DL it at the moment, my (parents') ISP and I are not on the best of terms.

I don't think it was the bestest of best episodes, given the awesomeness of the last few episodes, but I think this is just due to a more comparative lack of action than anything.

I obviously loved loved loved loved loved Eric getting pissy about all the sitting around inaction whilst his beloved Godric was missing, I loved his whole reveal to Bill of why Godric was so important to him, AND I LOVED THE VIKING FLASHBACK OMG. I AM DYING TO SEE THAT ALL AGAIN IN HD. We found out that Eric has always been lulzy (his line about there always being women wherever he is, hahahaha), that ASkars speaking that much Swedish continuously whilst dressed up like his Daddy in King Arthur makes my loins a-quiver, and that IDGAF if I could barely see shit on the crappy streaming site, I choose to believe Godric & Eric have buckets of sexual tension. YES SIR. I NEED THE DOWNLOAD NOW FUCK DAMN IT.

I also liked the Daphne reveal - I love that she's a deer (fawn, whatever, IDK I'm from Australia we don't have deer). Pretty and graceful. I am hoping beyond hope that she isn't evil and fucks Sam over, because Sam being happy makes me inestimably happy.

INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS (FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHH)

I guess I should preface this by saying that I really, really dislike Tarantino. Something about him makes me want to punch him squarely in his stupid face, and I've always thought his films were rather overrated, I only really liked Reservoir Dogs, tbh. It's not because I think the violence is gratuitous in his films (like my mum does hahaha), that doesn't bother me, and I know he's paying homage to all his favourite film styles, and it's very clever and cool and whatnot, and he's like this genius ADHD film buff, but the films just do nothing for me. Particularly the Kill Bill films. Although QT was on Alias and was a big fangirl of the show....but BASICALLY QT AND I HAVE A TENUOUS RELATIONSHIP AT THE BEST OF TIMES. So when I heard that he was going to make a film about Nazis, I was pretty D: about it, and even more so when I read about some of the historical inaccuracies he was popping in the film (um Hitler gets blown up in a movie theatre? OH OK THEN). WWII/the Third Reich is one of my favourite areas in history in that I find it extraordinarily intriguing to study Germany and the almost total cultural, political and social immersion it went through, I love reading about it, I LOVE teaching about it more than anything else, and I love films about it. So I was all GRR FUCK YOU QUENTIN YOU PENIS. But then I started seeing the casting news, and I got excited. If you've read anything in this journal you'll know I have a serious thing for German actors, and when I read that he had cast TIL SCHWEIGER AND DANIEL BRÜHL AND AUGUST DIEHL AND GEDEON BURKHARD in a big fucking Hollywood film my head exploded with the awesome. I love these guys a great deal for many reasons - Til is a half-decent actor in a LOT of shitty films and is hot and mean-looking as hale; Daniel is a pwntacular and completely gorgeous actor, as you all know; August is imho an even better actor than Daniel and has a really lovely, peculiar look to him; and Gedeon was in the greatest TV show of all time (Kommissar Rex aka. Inspector Rex, about an Austrian police dog that defuses bombs and shit and one of the biggest TV cult hits in Australia EVER). AND THEN I FOUND OUT HE CAST FASSY FASSBENDER AKA ONE OF THE COOLEST, MOST TALENTED AND AWESOME MEN TO EVER WALK THE PLANET. And my excitement grew more. And then the cast gets fleshed out with lots of other randomly awesome actors, US and European - BJ NOVAK!! SAMM LEVINE!! MIKE MYERS!! ELI ROTH!! DIANE KRUGER!! MELANIE LAURENT!! BRAD FUCKING PITT!! (tbh I'm hoping Brad kills it in this movie, from what I've seen he looks pretty lulzy and I've always loved him more as a comedic actor), and I really like that QT has done that - cast Germans as Germans, French as French, and so on and so forth, and not only that, but the Germans SPEAK German, the French speak French, the English speak English...I can't tell you how refreshing that will be, it's always such a crock of shit in these films when everyone is randomly speaking English. And as I mentioned before, gratuitous lulzy violence doesn't bother me that much, and the film looks to have a lot of it, and come on, people scalping Nazis and blowing shit up? FUCK YEAH. So kind of in the way I love True Blood, I've learnt that for this film I'm leaving my history teacher hat at the door, and putting on, IDK, my Michael Bay hat or some shit, because I want to see things being exploded and Nazis being mutilated and history being lulzy. And in doing so I have unintentionally become excited about Tarantino. If this movie sucks (it can't, though), I'll be fucking devastated. But until I see it I will be posting about it like there's no tomorrow. FUCK YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ALEXANDER SKARSGÅRD

Or, as he is otherwise known, ASkars, tall blonde viking overlord of my universe. Why do I love ASkars so? YOU MIGHT NOT HAVE HEARD BUT I FUCKING LOVE BLONDE MEN. It's been my kink for years. If I see blonde hair I'll always perk up and be like 'ooh what's this then?' without even looking at the person's face, hahaha. Then along comes this fucking Swedish blonde giant of deliciousness (:D) and blows everyone's minds, mine most certainly included. What's not to love about him? Physically, he's blonde and tan(nish) but not in a disgusting way, tall and climbable, and FUCKING SWEDISH (lol I love pretty much all Northern Europeans). When he's on screen, your eyes just go to him, because he is enormous and thus has presence. His father is STELLAN FUCKING SKARSGÅRD who apparently roams Stockholm impregnating women and gifting the world with more beautiful Skarsgårds. He's talented as all hell - anyone who can play Eric Northman AND Brad Colbert, polar opposites in so many ways, and play them convincingly, is talented in my eyes. But the fact that he's Swedish, that English is not his first language, that he's still able to perform so well through all those layers of accents, that impresses me even more. But the thing that I love most about him, tbqh, is that personality-wise, he's so evidently awesome IRL. Any good GK stan has listened to his audio commentary with PJ a million times and pissed themselves laughing at the things he says. We've all heard PJ's beautiful story about ASkars getting epically drunk, singing songs and fighting whole African villages. We've seen his lovely debauched shirtless drunk photos, which look not skeevy but hilarious and fun, and you know he would be fun to drink with. Even in his more reserved moments, in interviews, he will still make you LOL (I'M SCANDINAVIAN, DAMNIT. WE LOVE TO BE NAKED). He's even nice and classy on the street to the fucking paparazzi and doesn't beat them for mispronouncing his name, yet lulzy all the same. In short, he seems as fun as a barrel of monkeys and I'm yet to hear a bad word said about him.

CHUCK BASS

Part of me will always be ashamed that I watch Gossip Girl, but I won't make any fucking excuses, I love the show. LOVE IT. And the primary reason is this character. TPTB have fucked about with Chuck's character a lot, they can't decide whether he's evil rapey Chuck (my favourite, lol) or emo why doesn't daddy love me Chuck, or good-hearted Chuck buying buildings in Brooklyn, etc., and this is annoying to say the least. But what I do love is that this rather amoral character, who was somewhat on the periphery of things in the beginning, seems to have become (along with Blair, amoral in her own special way) the centre, the heart of the show. That fascinates me. And he's such a fabulous bitch, I LOVE HIS SEASON ONE WARDROBE AND IT SHOULD WIN AN EMMY IDGAF. I went to a private school and sort of grew up to some extent in those preppy environs (lol obviously nothing like NYC, though) and I knew a million preppy arseholes, and all the most delicious and hilarious parts of them have been combined in Chuck, who is at the same time the most and least attractive thing on the show. GENERATION KILL

This fandom has been ruling my world for about six months now and is not showing any sign of abating, not that I'd like it to. I watched Band of Brothers for the first time last year, after meaning to for a very long time, and as you well know, LOVED IT. Seriously loved it. And then r0knr0ll, in her infinite fucking wisdom, told me to watch Generation Kill. And now I'm obsessed with it. It's brilliant. So fucking brilliant. It's pretty much brilliant in every single way, I can find no flaws in it with the exception of the fact that there were only seven episodes. I don't know if I can properly explain why I love it so much without rambling too much, so let's try and be precise.

- source material: obviously the mini would not have been so awesome without the stellar source material. Evan Wright's book is incredibly well-written - easy to read yet with excellent characterisation, and doesn't skim on anything. Given that the dialogue he recorded forms the basis for, like, 75% of the mini dialogue, we're lucky Wright got it all down from the RL marines.

- the writing: even when you do have stellar source material, you can still fuck up the adaptation, but luckily the genius duo that is David Simon & Ed Burns , along with Evan Wright and all the rest of the team, put together a script that captures all the language of the marines - it's fast-paced, intelligent, and doesn't lose your focus. Ever. The themes of the series are so conflicting - these people are fucked-up, but they're so real, and it's strangely comforting - for every fucking Encino Man fighting the war it's nice to know there's some Nate Ficks as well. And regardless of your views on the war, the mini deals with the politics subtly and deftly - it doesn't ignore them, but it addresses them from the side of the men on the ground, and it's nice to get that perspective.

- cinematography: the mini is shot beautifully. The starkness of the settings, the colours, the close-ups that show you just how gorgeous Stark Sands' eyes are, it all works wonderfully.

- casting: it just fucking works. Having read the book, I think they did a wonderful job with the casting - sure, they're not exact physical doubles (PJ RANSONE =/= JOSH RAY PERSON IN ANY WAY) but they're perfect for the characters. So even though PJ looks nothing like Ray-Ray, he captures his verbosity. ASkars is twice the size of RL Colbert, but nails the steely Iceman nature. Stark looks like he's 12 years old at times, but this is strangely perfect for Fick. Billy Lush looks so innocent & naive at times, which is creepy perfect for Trombley being such a wonderful little psycho. Then some of the minor characters look a lot like their RL counterparts - Manimal (couldn't be any other way), Doc, Poke, etc... but everyone plays their roles wonderfully well. OH AND THEY CAST RUDY AS RUDY, ERGO THE CASTING IS PERFECT. The acting is superb, everything is superb. And then on top of all of this perfection, you have the GK fandom being small but many types of fucking awesome.

MARCUS WRIGHT

Ah, Terminator films, how I love thee. Epic and wonderfully rich and full of some of the most memorable and awesome characters in film (SARAH CONNOR. AHHHHNULD'S T-100. KYLE FUCKING REESE. JOHN CONNOR. THAT SCARY YET ALSO SEXY T-1000. ETC), and with a mythology all of its own that in a way will always be relevant to the increasingly technologically-based world we live in (in the same way that BSG is). When I heard about the basic premise of T4 for the first time it was MEGA EXCITING. We finally get to see that post-apocalyptic world, and not just through some brief Kyle Reese flashback but through A WHOLE FILM. We see John Connor leading the Resistance. We see bb Kyle Reese. FUCK YEAH. And to all this a new character is added who has become one of my favourites in the series. I was excited about Marcus Wright before I even knew what his character was, primarily because he was being played by Sam motherfucking Worthington (who, OT, I am STILL WORKING ON A CAREER PICSPAM OF. I fail so epically at being organised hahahaha). And then I saw the film, and imho he's the best thing about the film. He provides that first real bridge in the series between man & machine, and the way he struggles with this, the way he tries to hold onto his humanity when he find out what he's become - I love all these things. From the beginning to the end I love his arc - from Death Row Marcus to giving up his heart to John Connor (FAIL, SORRY - I love CBale as much as the next person, and I love the character of John Connor, but when I start second guessing the end of the film and wishing that John died instead of Marcus, that's when I start thinking that CBale didn't do the greatest job), and if there's a fifth film (surely there will be) I really hope that they'll manage to work Marcus in some way.

6. I was going to fully picspam the most recent episode of True Blood because God knows it was lulzy, but I think I'll just do a few of the funniest moments:

a) I LOVE YOU JASON STACKHOUSE AND I DON'T CARE WHO FUCKING KNOWSSSSSS

I don't know who Lazarus was, but he sure as hell was not the first vampire. Everybody knows it was Dracula.

I love the Jesus Camp storyline so much, I know it's not that popular but my GOD is it bringing the lulz. Ryan Kwanten continues to own me with the hilarity, OMG. And I'm starting to think that after every scene Jason & the Lukinator need to start saying NO HOMO because latent homosexual tendencies, much? Seriously, this dialogue:

LOL I loved this episode, I know there wasn't as much ~action~ as past weeks (and no Pam D:) but I thought it set things up well for coming episodes. OH AND IT CRACKED ME UP. I think I loved pretty much every storyline this week with the exception of the dirt-eating orgy, EW GROSS. Loved Jessica ordering a prostitute and getting that guy to yell out about Becky Eubanks getting fingered in church (OMG LOL SO MUCH); loved Sam being generally adorable (Daphne DON'T YOU FUCK WITH HIM); loved every single thing Andy Bellefleur did; loved Terry/Arlene; loved Hoyt being all QT; loved EVERYTHING about Jesus Camp - the Lukinator's obvious manlust for Jason, how obvious it is that the Newlins are looking for a threesome (SO BLATANT), the little paintball session with Steve getting all creepster fanatic in the car (LOL SO HARD), Jason's hilarious daydreaming (reminds me of Ryan Atwood and Taylor Townsend hahaha), AND EVERY LITTLE THING THAT CAME OUT OF JASON'S MOUTH AND ALL OF HIS EXPRESSIONS. He is KILLING ME. That line about Europe was the funniest, stupidest thing I've heard in a long time.

So I know I've been bitching and whinging over the past few episodes about how things have been slipping in this show, but seriously, it took one scene like that one at the end for me to be all NOPE DIDN'T MEAN IT.

WHAT AN INTENSE SCENE. SERIOUSLY. I WAS BLOWWWWWWWWWWWWN AWAY.

David pleads guilty, like we knew he would because he is David. And also because of Silas' fucking awesome manipulation of him so that he would plead guilty. He was basically like ALL THE AWESOME THINGS YOU HAVE EVER DONE FOR ME AND THIS KINGDOM HAVE ACTUALLY UNDERMINED ME AND HURT MY LEADERSHIP/THE COUNTRY THEREFORE PLEAD GUILTY AND GET THE DEATH PENALTY OR WHATEVER BECAUSE YOU SAID YOU WOULD. That Silas, he's crafty.

And after Jack visited David at his cell, again, it was kind of obvious that he was going to do something, but tbh nothing prepared me for all that fucking VITRIOL in the courtroom. And I loved that he was all DAVID IS GOOD WE ARE BAD ~~I LOVE YOU DAVID~~ lol. But then, because Jack's such a sneaky bugger, I am a little confused by his motivation for doing so. At the end of the show, when he apologises to his uncle for screwing the trial up because he couldn't let that happen to David because he was too good or whatever, it made it genuinely seem like that's the reason he did it, to save David. Otherwise I really would have thought that Jack stopped the trial because he wanted to discredit Silas, as he seems scheming enough to do that. But what he said at the end seemed genuine. IDK I JUST LOVED THAT HE SAVED DAVID IT'S ALMOST TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE ♥ hahaha

AND THEN FUCKING SILAS EXPLODES AND IT'S LIKE SOME BLACK HOLE OF CRAZY SUCKING THE ROOM UP. I was already going nuts by this point at how awesome the scene was, AND THEN HE USED THE F WORD AND I WAS JUST LIKE
