NSFW warning: there is arse later in this post. 1. HEY GUESS WHAT KINGS IS BACK. THANKS FOR THIS BITTER FUCKING PILL, NBC. AFTER TONIGHT, IT SHALL FORTHWITH BE KNOWN AS JACK AND DAVID'S BIG GAY LOVE STORY. ( Why should this be so, you ask? )2. TRUE BLOOD TONIGHT. MY HEART CAN'T STAND THE EXCITEMENT. And, completely on topic, this is an entire blog post about the travesty that was Eric's S1 hair and preparation for S2 short hair of awesome (extremely mild spoilers). Really haven't got anything else to say about it other than VERY FUCKING RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS. 3. As I mentioned, I am staying at my parents' house which, in spite of the shitty internet, DOES HAVE TV. Which means I HAVE BEEN WATCHING LIVE SPORT, ALL IS WELL IN THE WORLD. A few things of interest. ( RUGBY, THE WORLD'S GREATEST SPORT )And Euge, this is especially for you.... ( ARSE BEHIND CUT, NSFW )And I've been able to watch some AFL, thank God. ( AFL, THE BEST SPORT WE MADE UP )4. And finally, with all this spare time, I'm reading properly again. I started In Cold Blood on Friday and am almost finished, I'M LOVING IT SOMETHING CRAZY. In spite of my NO BOOKS WRITTEN AFTER 1950 mantra. I guess as it isn't fiction, I can let this one slide. Oh, also, LOL at me being all I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE BIG POSTS WITH MY SHITTY INTERNET. Fuck that, obviously. Big posts ahoy. | LOL

Lest we forget It's Anzac Day, the most important day of the year for Australians & Kiwis, or at least this Australian and all the Aussies and Kiwis I know. We commemorate a military catastrohpe for the influence it had upon our burgeoning sense of nationhood, and celebrate it as a sterling example of mateship, courage, loyalty, and all of those qualities we would like to see in ourselves as a country, even if we don't display them quite so much these days. ( They were young, straight of limb, true of eye, steady, and aglow. )And as I do every year, I will encourage you all to track down and watch the film Gallipoli. LOL this trailer is atrocious. There used to be another trailer available with the Jean-Michel Jarre music from the film in it, which I liked much more, but some cockhead took it down. This (along with the Sound of Music, shhh) is my favourite film of all time. It follows two young mates as they enlist during WWI and make their way across the world to the front. I'll love this film forever, and watch it without fail every Anzac Day. I love it because I am a walking cliche, and because it embodies all those things I talked about earlier, and even after multiple viewings, it will never lose its emotional resonance. It also has two of the most gorgeous young men in the lead roles, Mark Lee, and Mel Gibson, back when he was the most handsome man on the planet and slightly less...eccentric. I'll love him forever for this film ♥ And it's a Peter Weir film, and he's virtually incapable of making a poor film. ALSO. Hi. Southland. Marry me. I love this show. I can't actually believe how awesome Ryan Atwood and Bull Randleman are in a police car together. It's actually...perfect. Bull USE THEIR NAMES ALEX John is awesome. Like, his character is beyond awesome. He steals every scene he is in. I like him better than Bull hahahahahaha. And Oliver reappeared in this episode, goddamnit. And Ben is SLAYING ME. The scene at the end. It was like Ryan Atwood all growed up and mature. Tom Everett Scott's character continues to be a creeper. Show, you and I really need to consider procreation. I do love you.
